Joseph von Schork (born December 7, 1829 in Kleinheubach near Miltenberg , Lower Franconia ; † January 25, 1905 ) was Roman Catholic Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Bamberg from 1890 to 1905 .

Life

Joseph von Schork was ordained a priest on August 2, 1854 in Würzburg . He was a cathedral priest and school inspector, was elected provost in 1889 and in 1890 by Pope Leo XIII. appointed Archbishop of Bamberg.

The episcopal ordination on 24 May 1891 gave him Franz Joseph von Stein , Archbishop of Munich and Freising .

Joseph von Schork was an honorary citizen of the city of Würzburg (awarded in 1891), the city of Bamberg (awarded in 1904) and the municipality of Kleinheubach (awarded in 1891). He died in the episcopate.
