The Umbani developed by Denel is a retrofit kit that turns Mark 82 and Mark 83 free-fall bombs into precision-guided ammunition .
With the help of the Umbani, the bombs can be equipped with various search heads (including lasers and radar) and with a drive. The device has NATO standard suspensions.
Under the suspension there are two large elongated wings that only unfold after being released and give it a range of up to 60 kilometers, depending on the flight altitude and speed. The system is equipped with GPS and INS .
According to the manufacturer, the Umbani has a CEP of three meters when it is equipped with a laser or IR seeker head.
