The Israeli company Rafael Armament Development Authority developed the S mart P recise I mpact and C Eastern E ffective Guidance Kit ( Spice ). Structure and variants

Spice-1000

The special thing about the American JDAM kit is that the Spice has two target systems. A CCD / IIR seeker head is used as the primary system and GPS as the secondary system ; it is also immune to interference. Furthermore, the target can still be changed after the spice has been dropped, and that with a range of over 60 km, depending on the altitude and speed of the carrier aircraft.

The Mk-83 variant is called Spice-1000 (1000 lb) and is particularly noticeable due to the long wings attached in the middle. The Mk-84 variant, also Spice-2000 (2000 lb), looks quite similar to the Popeye . This is because the Spice is a derivative of the Popeye. The Spice-250 version was also presented in 2019. Spice-250 weighs 113 kg (250 lb) and has a 75 kg multi-purpose warhead. The range should be around 100 km.

According to the manufacturer, a bomb equipped with the Spice has a CEP of less than 3 meters.
