Jodokus Bernhard von Aufseß
Jodokus (Jobst) Bernhard Freiherr von Aufseß , also von Aufsees , (born March 28, 1671 in Mengersdorf , † April 2, 1738 in Würzburg ) was a canon in the diocese of Bamberg and Würzburg .
origin
The von Aufseß family is an old Franconian noble family and has owned the Mengersdorf manor in Upper Franconia since 1601 .
Canon and founder of the Aufseesianum
Jodokus (also: Jodocus or Jobst) Bernhard Freiherr von Aufseß was baptized Lutheran , but converted to the Catholic Church in 1683 and was trained as a Catholic clergyman. He was canon in Bamberg from 1683 and canon in Würzburg from 1686 . In 1709 he founded the Aufseesianum in Bamberg .
