Sama LelTayaran Company Limited ( Sama for short ) was a Saudi Arabian low-cost airline based in Riyadh and its home base at Dammam Airport .
history
The company was founded by Investment Enterprises Ltd., led by Prince Bandar bin Khalid al Faisal. The capitalization was carried out by 30 Saudi private and institutional investors, such as Olayan Financial Co, Xenel Industries Ltd, Saudi Industrial Service Co, Sara Development Company Ltd and Modern Investment Company for Trade and Industries. The first flight took place on March 19, 2007. Sama is the second low-cost airline besides Nasair in Saudi Arabia. The technical service of the machines is supported by Lufthansa Technik .
Sama had to cease operations on August 24, 2010 due to financial difficulties.
Destinations
Sama served destinations within Saudi Arabia such as Riyadh or Jeddah , destinations in the Middle East ( Jordan , Lebanon , Syria , United Arab Emirates ) as well as in India ( Mumbai ) and Egypt ( Alexandria , Assiut , Sharm El-Sheikh ).
