The non-profit society of the Franziskanerinnen zu Olpe mbH (GFO) is a socially charitable supporting company with more than 50 facilities in child and youth welfare, elderly care, in the hospital sector and in the education sector. Over 10,000 employees currently work in the network in North Rhine-Westphalia and Rhineland-Palatinate.

Company formation

The GFO has existed since 1902. It was founded by the founder of the Order of the Congregation of the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration , Mother Maria Theresia Bonzel . Since 1995 the order has left the running of the business to a secular management. The seat of the GFO is in Olpe , since 2012 in the mother house of the Olpe Franciscan Sisters.
