Common situation center lake

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Joint Situation Center See (GLZ-See) is the operational core of the Maritime Security Center (MSZ). It is a flexible and powerful organization for maritime surveillance, to improve hazard prevention and accident management.

As a joint institution of the federal government and the coastal states, the GLZ-See is responsible for maritime security on the entire German coast and the seaward port approaches.

The watchkeepers at the deployment sites in the GLZ lake work together around the clock. They exchange their information, base their situation assessments on identical basic knowledge and coordinate the use of their forces together. A coordinator ensures smooth cooperation in everyday operations. The existing responsibilities remain unchanged. This ensures a high level of expertise and clear responsibilities. Special situations are dealt with in tried and tested police structures under the leadership of the authority responsible for the individual task.

The main tasks of the GLZ-See are:

  • Provision of relevant data and information for the network partners
  • Creation of joint situation reports
  • First joint assessment of the general situation
  • Mutual advice
  • Mutual support in special situations
  • Logistic support for law enforcement and emergency services
  • Cooperation with the situation centers of other authorities and institutions
  • Participation in the preparation, implementation and evaluation of joint exercises
