List of rose varieties |
The moss rose Général Kléber , named after the French general Jean-Baptiste Kléber , was bred by Moreau-Robert in 1856.
'Général Kléber' flowers once and has a light scent. Its flowers are pale pink, conical and very double. The shoots are densely "mossed" with moss-like glands, which is what makes the moss rose so special. Their height is up to 1.50 m; it grows broadly bushy, upright and strong. The very frost-hardy rose 'Général Kléber' is somewhat susceptible to powdery mildew and needs fertile, deep soil and frequent pruning of the old wood in order not to bald. Planting in pots is possible.
