General forest master
Generalforstmeister is an official designation used in various countries for high officials in forest administration and forestry , it is derived from the management of a general forestry office .
German Empire and Prussia
The general forest master in the Prussian civil service and in the German Reich was the second highest forest official. He was subordinate to the Reichsforstmeister , the head of the Reichsforstamt , and was his deputy. The title of general forest master corresponded to the former Oberland forest master.
GDR
The general forest master was the highest official in the forestry of the German Democratic Republic , existed until 1990. At the same time he was usually also deputy minister for agriculture, forestry and food management.
India
The Director General of Forests as chief forest officer heads the Indian Forest Service (IFS) in India .
Lithuania
The general forest manager ( generalinis miškų urėdas ) is the chief forest officer in the Lithuanian state forestry . He heads the General Forestry Office at the Lithuanian Ministry of the Environment and oversees the chief forestry authorities (lit. miškų urėdija ). The general forest manager reports directly to the Lithuanian environment minister and is appointed by him for four years. The term of office of the general forest master is limited to a maximum of two terms of office.
