The Generali Invaders St. Pölten are an Austrian American football club from the Lower Austrian capital Sankt Pölten and currently play in the division of the Austrian Football League , in which they last played in 2009.

history

The team was founded in 1986; the club colors are red and gold . One of the founding members is the previous CEO Günter Zanker. The team's home is the Egger Homefield (formerly Glanzstoffplatz) in St. Pölten.

In the 2006 game year, the entry to the Silver Bowl was again just missed. The team ended the season with an overall record of 4-2. Thus, the Invaders finished fourth in the overall table of Division I and were entitled to participate in the playoff. There the team met the Dodge Vienna Vikings II again and lost this game just one touchdown deficit.

After that, from 2007 to 2009, each time they entered the Silver Bowl, which they then won against the Salzburg Bulls on July 11, 2009 with a score of 27-26. In 2010 he was promoted to the top division. The trip should be a short one. The club could not keep up with another season at this high level. Financially as well as playfully and athletically one was and is not ready for this league. After a year away from the Austrian league operations, they were able to return to the third-highest league in Austria in 2012. The very young team gained experience and was able to win the championship in Division 2 in 2013 and secure promotion to the second highest class.

However, the first year ended last in the table. Bad luck with injuries and very narrowly lost games characterized this season.
