In 2008 it was merged with Division III and restructured. The league was divided into an East and West Conference. There were also small changes in 2010. There were now nine teams in the league and the southern conference was introduced as the third conference. The game plan stipulates that there will be a return game against teams from their own conference. In addition, there are two interconference games in which a team is drawn from each of the two other conferences. There is also only one overall table for Division II. In 2012, Division II was again divided into the divisions Division II and Division III.

Since 2014, the league has consisted of two conferences with four teams each. Each team plays against each team from their own Conference round trip. In addition, two teams from each of the two conferences will be drawn to each other and will also play a round trip. After the eight basic round games, the first in a group plays against the runner-up in the other group in the play-offs for a place in the Iron Bowl.
