Generation (glass size)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Generation , mostly abbreviated z. B. GEN 10 , is the designation for sizes of available optical glasses and other substrates . The scale is not standardized and comes from the optical glasses industry. It is mainly used in the LCD and display industry, but also in solar cell and OLED production.

The sizes vary partly because there is no standard and partly because a conversion into inches is done.
