- a feeling of complete satisfaction
- in general the restoration of a violated legal interest in law, see satisfaction (law)
- in Swiss law the term for compensation for pain and suffering
- in legal history and in student associations, the reparation of an insult, see Satisfaction
- in religion compensation for sins and their consequences or for guilt
- often through some process of atonement or repentance of whatever kind (religion)
- reflected in Christianity in particular in soteriology , e.g. B. in the doctrine of satisfaction
