The Genuine Parts Company is a US-American trading company that sells aftermarket parts for motor vehicles and industrial equipment as well as items for office supplies. The spare parts business for automobiles accounts for around 56% of total sales and comprises a large network of stationary shops for private customers. Around a third of the group's sales are achieved through trading in industrial spare parts such as roller bearings , electric motors , fittings and seals . The office supplies trade provides a minority share. The United States is the main sales region with almost 75% of sales.

The company was founded in 1928 by Carlyle Fraser, who bought an existing parts dealer and renamed it the Genuine Parts Company. In 1948 the company went public.
