Geoffrey Donald Chisholm

Geoffrey Donald Chisholm (born September 8, 1929 in Smithton , Tasmania , † January 13, 2006 in Braddon , Tasmania) was an Australian politician.

Life

Trained at Devonport High School, Chisholm switched to forestry . From 1964 to 1979 he was a member of the Tasmanian Parliament for Braddon. In 1974 he became Minister of Transport, between 1974 and 1979 he changed departments several times and was Minister for the Environment ( Resourcing and Energy ), Sport ( Racing and Gaming ) and Building ( Housing and Construction ).

Chisholm was married to Margaret Watts from 1951 and has two children, Vicki and Kim.
