The first season of Geordie Shore , a British reality television series, takes place in Newcastle upon Tyne . It first aired on May 24, 2011 on MTV . In addition, a special was filmed in Magaluf after the first season , which contains 2 more episodes. A special storyline was the relationship between Holly and her boyfriend Dan, who lives outside the house. At the end of the season they split up. The on / off relationship between Charlotte and Gaz and the tense mood between Vicky and Jay also begin. Ultimately, they both ended their liaison. Plus, this was the only season that featured Greg. Season 2 followed in January 2012 .
