Georg-Alexander Hoyer

Georg-Alexander Hoyer (* 1934 ) is a German chemist ( analytical chemistry ).

Hoyer received his doctorate in 1964 at the Free University of Berlin ( studies on the influence of chemical structural features on physical properties in the hydrocarbon series ) and was at Schering AG from 1964 to 2000 , where he headed the analytics, theoretical chemistry and computer applications department. After his retirement in 2000 he was a consultant for analytical chemistry there. From 1994 he was honorary professor for analytical chemistry at the Humboldt University in Berlin .

Since 1993 he was on the council of the GDCh. In 2003 he received the Clemens Winkler Medal and in 2005 the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany. His commitment to the integration of the former Analytical Center of the Academy of Sciences of the GDR into the Adlershof site of the Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (BAM) was particularly emphasized.
