Georg Aigner

Georg Aigner (born May 16, 1934 in Bochum ) is a German engineer and politician ( SPD ).

Life

After graduating from elementary school, Aigner completed a craft apprenticeship from 1949 to 1952 and was then a journeyman until 1955. He worked as a miner from 1955 to 1963, then attended the State Engineering School for Mining in Bochum, where he graduated as a graduate engineer.

Political party

Aigner joined the SPD in 1961 and was sub-district chairman in Bochum from 1979 to 1988.

MP

He was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia from May 28, 1975 to May 31, 1995, and from 1980 to 1990 he was deputy group chairman of the SPD parliamentary group.

Honors

Aigner was awarded the Order of Merit of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia on November 7, 1996 .
