Georg Dechant (politician, 1884)

Georg Dechant (born February 23, 1884 in Tarsdorf ; † May 18, 1953 ibid) was an Austrian politician ( CS ), farmer and innkeeper. Dechant was a member of the Upper Austrian Landtag from 1919 to 1925 .

Dechant worked as a farmer, innkeeper and butcher and was also a house owner in Hörndl near Tarsdorf . In 1906 he took over his parents' farm and married a year later. Dechant served between 1914 and 1918 in the First World War, after his return he was one of the founders of the farmers' union and was also chairman of the fire brigade, honorary chairman of the music association and co-founder of the Oberinnviertel dairy. Dechant was politically active as a local councilor and deputy mayor, from June 23, 1919 to May 18, 1925, he represented the Christian Social Party in the Upper Austrian state parliament.
