Georg Steinhaupt

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Georg Steinhaupt (* in the 15th century ; † 1465 in Königsberg ) was an official in the Teutonic Order .

meaning

Steinhaupt was a follower of the religious chartered Heinrich Reuss von Plauen . In 1458 he became councilor and in 1464 mayor of Altstadt (Königsberg) . Its great hour came in the Thirteen Years' War during the peace negotiations on the Fresh Spit ; clever and tenacious, he represented the cause of the Teutonic Order . Had he not died suddenly, his diplomatic skills would probably have made the Second Peace of Thorn more favorable to the Order.

The Polish Street in Altstadt (Königsberg) was named after him.
