Career
Delacourt-Smith was a member of the House of Commons from 1945 to 1950. There he represented the constituency of Colchester . From 1969 to 1970 he was Minister of State for Technology .
In 1969 he was appointed a member of the Privy Council . he was also a justice of the peace .
On October 13, 1967, he was promoted to life peer .
