Georges Le Bidois

Georges Le Bidois (* 1863 ; † after 1938) was a French Romance studies , literary scholar and linguist.

life and work

Le Bidois first taught at the Oratorian School in Juilly . He completed his habilitation in Paris in 1900 with the two theses De l'Action dans la tragédie de Racine (published ud T. La vie dans la tragédie de Racine , Paris 1901; 9th edition 1929) and De comoedia et de nostratibus scenicis poetis quid judicaverit Bossuetius (Paris 1900). In 1904 he became professor of French language and literature at the Institut catholique de Paris .

Georges Le Bidois was the father of the Romanist Robert Le Bidois .
