Georgette
Georgette (also crepe georgette ) is the name for a thin, veil-like fabric made of silk or artificial silk . The name is derived from the Parisian milliner Georgette de la Plante . The georgette is a little heavier and less transparent than the related chiffon . The use of twisted threads creates a structured surface with a crepe effect. The warp and weft of this fabric are made from crepe. Georgette is considered to be very durable. Georgette is used to make blouses, flowing dresses, scarves and high-quality women's underwear. Georgette fabrics were particularly popular in the first half of the 20th century.
