The Georgian National Philharmonic is a concert hall in the Georgian capital, Tbilisi , located at the beginning of Merab Kostava Street and Melikishvili Street .

The building of the Philharmonie was designed as a rotunda by the architect Iwan Tschchenkeli and inaugurated in 1971. The large auditorium holds around 2500 visitors. The walls and ceiling were provided with wood paneling to create the sound and space. Glazed galleries surround the central hall. The surrounding aisles allow a panoramic view of the old town during the concert breaks. Next to the foyer is a small concert hall for around 750 visitors. It is currently used as a cinema (Kino Amirani).

In front of the building is a tapering square with the monumental monument Die Muse by the sculptor Merab Berdsenischwilli, built in 1971 . The bronze cast statue with an enigmatic look and an enraptured smile is one of the most popular photo and postcard motifs in the city.

As a source of inspiration and beauty, the muse spreads her arms wide and generously shares joy and kindness.
