General

Most of the equipment and personnel carriers were converted models of the Tatra 805 . The Tatra 805 was originally produced and used for the Czechoslovak Army . Due to their good off-road driving characteristics, the volunteer fire brigades converted retired vehicles into fire engines. On the one hand there was the equipment and crew car with a box body and on the other hand as a flatbed. The vehicle had a 1/8 group crew, with 6 seats in the superstructure behind the driver's cab. Even though production of the Tatra 805 was discontinued in 1960, the equipment and personnel vehicles are still used in some voluntary fire brigades in the Czech Republic .
