Straight line field

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In synthetic projective geometry, the straight line field is the set of all straight lines that lie in a plane . The plane is called the carrier of the straight line field. The straight line field is a basic structure of the second level.

Each straight line field also contains the distant straight line of the beam plane. If the carrier plane is the far plane of space, the straight line field does not contain an ordinary straight line, but all long distance lines of space.
