Gerald Spitzner

Gerald Spitzner (born April 11, 1972 in Vienna ) is an Austrian composer .

He was born as the son of the Viennese composer (ÖGZM), teacher and music therapist Prof. Renate Spitzner . His compositions try to build bridges between artistic traditions and themes. A number of musical and social projects with SOS children in the children's village (sacred choral and chamber music works) take special account of the integration of mentally ill and ill people. His works have been performed in Vienna and Austria, Germany, Luxembourg, Poland, Switzerland, Italy, the Czech Republic, Canada, California, Slovenia and Asia.

Gerald Spitzner is the great-nephew of the theologian Heinrich Maier .

• Camillus Mass (was performed while Father Franz Lachinger was still alive in 2000 in the geriatric center with the musical and social project in the Lainz home church)
• Heinrich Maier Oratorio (first performance in 1995 at the Vienna Regional Court with those supervising the musical-social project and volunteer professional musicians. It musically depicts Heinrich Maier's ordeal.)
• Karl Borromaeus Messe (first performance July 14, 1993 in Prague, hospital church with patients from the clinic and nuns as well as the musical and social project)
