Gerana
Gerana ( Greek Γεράνα ), occasionally also called Oinoe , is a figure in Greek mythology .
Divinely worshiped by her pygmy tribe , she despised true goddesses like Hera and Artemis . As a punishment, Hera turned her into a crane. Longing for her son Mopsos , whom she had given birth to her husband Nicodamas , Gerana kept flying around the house afterwards. They drove away the pygmies; since then there has been enmity between the cranes and the pygmies.
Gerana is said to have fathered the tortoise with her husband.
