Gerd Kraus

Gerd Kraus (* 1967 ) is a German biologist and director of the state Thünen Institute for Sea Fisheries at the Thünen Institute in Hamburg.

As a scientific assistant, Kraus worked from 2002 to 2006 in the fishery biology department of the "Marine Ecology" research area at IFM-GEOMAR in Kiel. From 2006 to 2008 he was Senior Researcher at the Technical University of Denmark and the Danish Institute for Fisheries Research, in the field of fisheries biology with a focus on population dynamics and reproductive biology . Kraus has been director of the state Thünen Institute for Sea Fisheries in Hamburg since 2008 .
