Gerhard Breloer

Gerhard Breloer (* 1934 in Recklinghausen ) is a German educationalist . He was best known for his contributions to learning in old age.

Life

Gerhard Breloer was born in Recklinghausen in 1934 . After studying Catholic theology (1955–1961) in Münster and Munich, he was in pastoral practice from 1961–1968, a. a. in youth work and adult education. From 1968 to 1972 second degree in education and history at the Free University of Berlin, where he also received his doctorate. From 1970 to 1975 he was an assistant at the Institute for Social Pedagogy and Adult Education at the Free University of Berlin. From 1975 until his retirement he was professor at the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster with a focus on adult education.

Services

Gerhard Breloer's main focus in teaching and research is didactics in adult education and social gerontology (including studies in old age) as well as the development of teaching and learning forms in higher education.
