Gerhard Rummel

Gerhard Rummel (* 1944 ) is a German Roman Catholic theologian .

Life

Rummel studied Roman Catholic theology . From 1976 to 2009 Rummel was professor of Catholic theology at the Catholic University of Freiburg . He taught in the departments of didactics and methodology of religious instruction as well as pastoral theology .

He also represented the universities of applied sciences on the advisory board of German-speaking pastoral theologians for 20 years and chaired the conference of theological departments at the Catholic universities of applied sciences in Germany for eight years.

In his retirement he will continue to be actively involved in pastoral work with senior citizens, especially in the "elderly and nursing home pastoral care", as well as dedicating himself to the topic of the seclusion of human life .
