Bailiff (Lithuania)

In Lithuania , the bailiff is the private person to whom the state tasks of enforcement are entrusted. Like the notary, he is also a freelancer . A person can be appointed as a bailiff by the Lithuanian Minister of Justice if he is a citizen of the Republic of Lithuania and is a person with good reputation, if he has a university degree in law (one-level or bachelor's degree), worked as a bailiff's assistant for at least 2 years and one has won a public tender (or has at least 5 years of legal experience or has practiced as a bailiff and has won a public tender). The holder of a doctorate or habilitation in law and the bailiff with experience of at least 5 years (no more than 3 years after his release from the position of bailiff) can be appointed bailiff without examination after the public tender won. The Lithuanian Chamber of Bailiffs is responsible for supervision.
