German Junior Bowl XXIX

The German Junior Bowl XXIX was the 29th edition of the Junior Bowl final of the German Football League Juniors . It took place on June 28, 2010 in Berlin's Friedrich-Ludwig-Jahn-Sportpark . The German champions were the Düsseldorf Panther Rookies who beat the Hamburg Young Huskies 17: 7. The Panthers secured their 15th German championship.

Group stage

After the Panthers had lost their first game of the season against the Cologne Falcons with 7:12, the rookies stabilized and won their remaining games (very clearly) and were first in their group before the Falcons.

Playoffs

In their first playoff game, the Panthers defeated the Berlin Rebels with 50:10 in their own stadium. In the semifinals there was a duel against the Falcons from Cologne. Cologne looked like the sure winner, but the Panthers did not give up and in the end won the game with 14:10 and moved into the German Junior Bowl XXIX.

Group stage

The Hamburg Young Huskies dominated their group and entered the playoffs unbeaten. The Hamburg team left the then current German youth champions, the Berlin Adler, as well as the Berlin Rebels and Braunschweig Lions behind.

Playoffs

In the quarter-finals, the Huskies beat the Wiesbaden Phantoms 38: 7. The Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns waited in the semifinals. The sled dogs mastered this hurdle and won 41:31 and moved into the Junior Bowl XXIX against the Düsseldorf Panthers.

Junior Bowl XXIX

After the Panthers had won this title for the 14th time, the rookies went into the final as favorites. The Panthers took the lead with Julian Zorz and Pascal Wildhagen at 07:00. Wildhagen increased to 10:00 before the break. The defense of the panthers always had the offense of the huskies under control and in the third quarter Wildhagen increased again with a touchdown and an extra point to 17:00. The Huskies shortened to 17: 7 through Medin-Cerezo and Bialas, but the Panthers drove this victory home safely and took their 15th championship.
