Gerrit Heinemann

Gerrit Heinemann (* 1960 in Osnabrück ) is a German economist who deals with e-commerce , online retail , multi-channel retail and the future of retail . Since 2005 he has been Professor of Business Administration, Management and Commerce at the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences in Mönchengladbach, where he founded and heads the eWeb Research Center.

Life

Heinemann studied at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Muenster Business Administration , where he worked as a research assistant at Heribert Meffert worked and textile on the operation type profiling shops with summa cum laude doctorate. He then became Head of Marketing at Douglas Holding AG. He then did a trainee program at Kaufhof Warenhaus AG and then took on operational responsibility as the department store manager. In 1995 he returned to the Douglas Group, where he worked as the managing director of Drospa Holding and then moved to the international management consultancy Droege & Comp as head of the “Competence Center Retail and Consumer Goods” . There he was also in interim positions, u. a. as head of the E-Plus shops and as CEO of the Kettner Group.

In 2004 he began his scientific career and in 2005 was appointed professor for business administration, management and trade at the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences, where he founded the eWeb Research Center in 2010. As one of the first scientists in Germany, Heinemann dealt with the topic of online trading from the perspective of business administration. For years he has been considered one of the leading e-commerce researchers and one of the most prominent retail experts in German-speaking countries. In addition to more than 300 specialist articles, he has written 22 specialist books on the future of retail, digitization, e-commerce, online and multi-channel retail.

Heinemann holds supervisory board functions in e-commerce and trading companies and was deputy for many years. Chairman of the supervisory board of buch.de internetstores AG and supports start-ups as an advisory board.
