The protected landscape component Bachschwinde with the Brauckstück sinkhole with an area of 3.74 ha is located in the area of the independent city of Hagen in North Rhine-Westphalia . The LB was designated in 1994 with the landscape plan of the city of Hagen by the city council of Hagen.

Description in the landscape plan: “The protected part of the landscape is located southwest of Holthausen. It is a stream from the source to the stream shrinkage in a sinkhole of the mass limestone that is partially filled with waste . The source zones and the upper course of the brook lie in a partly natural deciduous mixed forest, in the further course there are wooded trees accompanying the brook. The lower section of the stream was relocated and straightened. "
Protection purpose
According to the landscape plan, the designation was made "to ensure the efficiency of the natural balance by maintaining a habitat for the communities of the source zones and flowing waters and their characteristic animal and plant species and to structure and revitalize the landscape by preserving natural landscape elements and a geoscientifically remarkable object."
