The protected landscape component of quarry forest in the aspen with an area of ​​2.4  hectares is located in the area of ​​the independent city of Hagen in North Rhine-Westphalia . The LB was designated in 1994 with the landscape plan of the city of Hagen by the city council of Hagen. The landscape component lies between the A 45, Ruhrtalstrasse and the campsite.

The LB is a springy brook-alder-ash forest, a stinging nettle and groundwater corridor overlooked by poplars and a forest of oaks and hornbeams on a mountainside.

Protection purpose

According to the landscape plan, the designation was made "for the preservation and development of near-natural, indigenous forest stands as a habitat, especially for the endangered plant and animal species of the wet forests and source areas as well as the characteristic communities of dry mixed deciduous forests and for the structuring and revitalization of the landscape by preserving natural landscape elements."

Prohibitions and requirements in the landscape component

For the protected landscape component of the rose garden north of Eppenhauser Straße , special prohibitions and requirements were issued. In addition to the prohibitions for all protected landscape components in Hagen, forestry use is prohibited in this landscape component with the exception of individual logs. The downforce of poplar stands and the build-up of alder trees, the creation of an immission control planting along the Ruhrtalstrasse and raising of the groundwater level in the landscape component were stipulated as a requirement.
