The protected landscape component of the former farmyard Rönsel with an area of 1.5 hectares is located in the area of the independent city of Hagen in North Rhine-Westphalia . The LB was designated in 1994 with the landscape plan of the city of Hagen by the city council of Hagen.

Description in the landscape plan: “The landscape component is located south of Westerbauer on the city limits to Gevelsberg in the forest. It is a former farm with remains of walls, a pond, an orchard and fallow land, some of which are afforested with spruce. A forest and hiking trail leads right through the site. "
Protection purpose
According to the landscape plan, the designation was made “to ensure the efficiency of the natural balance by maintaining a structurally rich habitat, in particular for heat-loving animal and plant species, for the communities of orchards and fallow areas as well as for the characteristic animal and plant species of the small bodies of water, for structuring and revitalizing the landscape by maintaining the variety of landscape elements in forest areas and by taking appropriate measures to ward off harmful effects, in particular in the form of disturbances to the animal world by recreation seekers and dogs running freely. "
