Protected landscape component of the hop garden
The protected landscape component of the hop garden with an area of 3.1 hectares is located northeast of the Hagen motorway junction in the area of the independent city of Hagen in North Rhine-Westphalia . The LB was designated in 1994 with the landscape plan of the city of Hagen by the city council of Hagen. The LB is surrounded by the Herbeck landscape protection area .

The LB "is a section of the floodplain of the Ölmühlenbach with wet meadows, alluvial forest remains (brook-alder-ash forest) and a sedge swamp."
Protection purpose
According to the landscape plan, the designation took place:
- “To ensure the efficiency of the natural balance by maintaining a habitat, especially for the characteristic animal and plant species of the wet forests, wet meadows or pastures and swamp areas on calcareous locations and
- to revitalize and structure the landscape by maintaining a species-rich brook meadow and natural, down-to-earth forest and meadow communities. "
