The protected landscape component of Kumschedebach with an area of ​​1.2  ha is located east of Garenfeld in the area of ​​the independent city of Hagen in North Rhine-Westphalia . The LB was designated in 1994 with the landscape plan of the city of Hagen by the city council of Hagen. The LB is the Kumschedebach which lies on the border with the city of Schwerte . The natural meandering stream and the alder-ash forest there belong to the LB.

Protection purpose

According to the landscape plan, the designation took place:

  • “To ensure the efficiency of the natural balance by maintaining a natural stream course and indigenous alluvial forest fragments as a habitat, especially for rare animal and plant species of flowing waters and wet forests and
  • for structuring, revitalizing and maintaining the landscape by preserving natural landscape elements. "

In addition to the extensive prohibitions and requirements for all protected landscape components in Hagen, the prohibition was issued for this LB in the landscape plan:

  • "The forestry use with the exception of the individual log removal."
