History Association of the Diocese of Rottenburg-Stuttgart

The History Association of the Diocese of Rottenburg-Stuttgart is an association based in Stuttgart , which aims to promote scientific work on the history of the Diocese of Rottenburg-Stuttgart . In addition - according to the statute from the founding year 1979 - the "suggestion, promotion and publication of scientific work", the "summary of the forces active in the research of regional church history", the "concern for monuments and documents of the diocesan history", the " Deepening knowledge of diocesan history, especially through lectures, guided tours, study trips and conferences ”.

Publications

The Rottenburger Jahrbuch für Kirchengeschichte (RJKG) is published annually, in which the latest research on church history is published and which is each dedicated to a main topic (e.g. on male and female orders and monasteries, church movements between modern times and postmodernism, staging of the papacy (19./20 Century), ecclesiastical and social issues). A review section and the “Chronicle” of the history association are integrated, in which all information on publications and events is available. A table of contents of all volumes published so far is available at www.gv-drs.de.

Bishop Carl Joseph von Hefele Prize

Awarded to students who B. in their diploma theses made important contributions to the research of the church history of the south-west of Germany, in particular the diocese of Rottenburg-Stuttgart.

Stuttgart talks on historical-political culture

since 2009 in Stuttgart in the house of the Catholic Church. A currently controversial (also emotionally) discussed topic should be dealt with rationally, in that the historical (development) connections are presented, current developments are deepened and options for dealing with this topic are considered and discussed.
