The society for innovative employment promotion mbH (abbreviated GIB NRW or GIB mbH - partly also GIB or GIB ) is a state consulting company wholly owned by the state of North Rhine-Westphalia . The state is represented by the Ministry of Labor, Health and Social Affairs of North Rhine-Westphalia . GIB NRW supports the state government of North Rhine-Westphalia in realizing its labor and social policy goals.
History and current seat
GIB NRW was founded in 1986 by the state of North Rhine-Westphalia as a sole shareholder. First, eleven employees started their work in the former fire station of the Prosper I colliery in Bottrop. Today it has its headquarters with 89 employees in the premises of the former Arenberg colliery in Bottrop - Batenbrock . A branch is located in the Innova-Park Wiesenbusch in Gladbeck- Rentfort .
tasks
GIB NRW supports the state government of North Rhine-Westphalia in promoting employment and combating unemployment, poverty and social exclusion. With her professional support for state programs and initiatives, she takes on a hinge function between the state and regions. Regional decision-makers and multipliers are supported in the implementation of state programs, companies and sponsors are supported in the implementation of projects, and projects and programs are subjected to qualitative controlling. Conversely, the GIB NRW bundles the experiences and wishes of the regional actors towards the state. The GIB NRW is also a strategic partner of the Ministry of Labor, Health and Social Affairs of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia in the implementation of the European Social Fund .
The GIB NRW is divided into four specialist departments, two staff units and administration:
- Department "Youth and Training, Transition School - Work"
- Department "target group integration and SGB II support "
- "Monitoring and Evaluation" department
- Department of "Work Design and Securing Skilled Workers"
- Unit "Measures to Combat Poverty and Support Local Social Planning "

GIB info
The paid trade magazine "GIB-Info" appears four times a year. With a mix of interviews, reports and articles, the magazine takes up current labor and social policy issues, provides information on funding programs and reports on projects in North Rhine-Westphalia in a practical manner. The GIB-Info has a print run of 2,000 copies and can also be read online with a subscription.
