The law concerning the simplification and cheaper public administration of April 27, 1933 was a law in the Free State of Oldenburg . Among other things, it brought about a reduction in the cost of caring for the institutionalized patients, while increasing mortality was accepted.

The welfare department (later expanded to the Oldenburg Regional Welfare Association , today Oldenburg District Association ) of the Ministry of the Interior was to use the saved care allowances to create funds and real estate in order to finance major NS culture projects, including the Thingstätte Stedingsehre , Museumsdorf Cloppenburg , State Museum Oldenburg and others.

The mortality figures in the sanatorium and nursing home Wehnen from 1932 to 1947 show a connection between reduced nursing care rates, saved costs, reduced food and mortality. The researcher Ingo Harms estimates the number of patients who died as a result at 1500 people.
