District Association Oldenburg

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The District Association of Oldenburg is a municipal association in the state of Oldenburg . It emerged from the State Welfare Association Oldenburg.

history

On August 1, 1786, the General Directory of Poor Services was established. At the same time, a number of existing funds for charitable contributions, which are now called "Oldenburg General Fund", were combined.

Section 1 of Article 10 of the Law for the Grand Duchy of December 5, 1868 on the organization of the State Ministry transferred the management of the funds to the “Commission for the Management of Funds and Charitable Foundations”.

In 1937 the tasks of the commission were transferred to the Landesfürsorgeverband Oldenburg. It was founded on July 7, 1924 as a special authority of the state administration as a department of the Oldenburg Ministry of the Interior. The law of April 27, 1933 , concerning the simplification and cheaper public administration , allowed an increased accumulation of reserves.

The museum village of Cloppenburg , established in 1934, was sponsored by the association until 1961.

In 1974 the association was named the District Association of Oldenburg.
