Jens-Christian Moesgaard

Jens-Christian Moesgaard (* 1963 ) is a Danish numismatist .

Career

He studied history at the University of Copenhagen until 1992 . 1992 to 1995 worked in the Musées départementaux de la Seine-Maritime, Rouen , with responsibility for the coin collections. In 1996 he worked for AFAN Grand Ouest in Petit-Quevilly, France, with the determination and evaluation of coin finds. After being hired as Research Associate for the Corpus of Early Medieval Coin Finds project at the Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge in January 1997 , he was hired as a scientist by the National Museum in Copenhagen in May 1997 . In 2001 he was given a custodian position with responsibility for the medieval holdings of the Royal Coin Collection and the task of processing the coin finds. In March 2015 he was visiting professor at the École pratique des hautes études , Paris. September 2017 to September 2018 Moesgaard has the 'Marie Skłodowska-Curie Research Fellowship' of the 'Le Studium, Loire Valley Institute for Advanced Study' in Orléans.
