Legal unit

A legal unit is a unit of measurement that is provided within the framework of legal provisions for business and official transactions.

The following laws in particular apply to legal units:

• For the EU the directive 80/181 / EEC
• For Germany the unit and time law
• For Austria the law of measurement and calibration
• For Switzerland, the federal law on metrology
