The rifle club (Gunstock Club) is a striking weapon used by the Indians of North America .

description

The rifle mace is made of wood and has an inserted, double-edged blade. The stock is made similar to a rifle stock, hence the name. The booklet is made round to oval. The shaft becomes wider towards the impact head. On the outwardly curved side, a simple, double-edged dagger or chopping blade is attached to the shaft. The shaft is decorated with the round heads of brass nails (see picture info box). The club is usually painted in color and decorated with symbols and patterns. Rifle stock clubs come in different versions. It is used by ethnic groups from the southern to the eastern Great Plains (including Osage , Sioux , Chippewa , Huron , Iowa ). The Indians of the northern Plains prefer thicker and heavier specimens, while the Indians of the Midwest prefer longer and thinner ones. Experts attribute the shape of the shaft to the appearance of the first firearms in the 16th and 17th centuries.
