Thunderstorm grotto
Thunderstorm Grotto is the name of a striking rock formation on the Teufelsmauer between Blankenburg (Harz) and the district of Timmenrode . It is located on the hiking trail, which was expanded in 1934, on the north side of the Teufelsmauer, east of the Heidelberg on the edge of the Sautroge. The thunderstorm grotto is marked with a sandstone plaque. Furthermore, a board explains the history of the development of the striking sandstone weathering.
