Ghafurow Museum
The Ghafurov Museum ( Russian Республиканский музей академика Б.Г. Гафурова = Museum of the Republic of Academician BG Ghafurov) is a museum in the city of Ghafurow in northern Tajikistan . It is dedicated to the life and work of the Tajik politician and scientist Bobodzhon Ghafurov, who died in 1977 . The collection includes around 10,000 items, including documents, photographs, print media, and Ghafurov's personal effects.
The museum opened on the occasion of his 90th birthday in December 1998 . It is the first museum established by the government of the independent Republic of Tajikistan .
