Ghanem Humood Faraj al-Dosari ( Arabic غانم حمود فرج الدوسري, DMG Ġānim Ḥumūd Faraǧ ad-Dausarī , born on May 16, 1980 in Layla ) is a Saudi Arabian human rights activist and satirist . He lives in exile in London and criticizes the Saudi ruling house and its totalitarian regime via Twitter and YouTube .

He gained national fame through his talk show , the Ghanem Show , which has been seen by millions of people in the Arab world since 2015.

Life

In 2003 al-Dosari went to London. For a long time he used the news service Twitter as his primary means of communication . 457,000 people are among its regular readers.

The Ghanem Show has been available on YouTube since 2015 . Using black humor , he criticized the Saud ruling house, especially the king and his crown prince. The satires about the royal house are presented in the Fadfada section in particular and regularly contain "secret news from within the ruling family". For this purpose he created the characters "Salmanco" and "al-Dub al-Dasher". al-Dosari has called for far-reaching demonstrations for September 15, 2017.

He was and is regularly attacked, verbally by people close to the royal family or in the service of the Saud, physically in autumn 2018 when two men attacked him in London and at the same time shouted the name of the Crown Prince.
