Gherlacus de Bremis (* in Lübeck ; † 1410 or 1411) was Council Secretary of the Hanseatic City of Lübeck .

Life

Gherlacus de Bremis was the son of the Lübeck citizen Johann von Bremen. He studied at the University of Prague , where he received his bachelor's degree in 1389 and his master's degree in 1393. He then became council secretary in Lübeck, where his entries in the Lübeck Niederstadtbuch begin on Whitsun 1394. When, in the course of the civil unrest at the beginning of the 15th century, the old council was expelled from the city in 1408 and a new council was installed, he left the city's service shortly afterwards.
